We are SO excited to unveil our second feature film, DANGER! DANGER! this weekend. The film however is SOLD OUT. As a matter of fact the film has sold out TWICE today. We actually moved the screening to a larger theater only to sell out minutes later. We’re of course extremely bummed that we’re not able to get everyone in that wants to attend - but on the other hand it is pretty cool to sell out!

Danger! Danger! directed by Nick + Lexie Trivundza is their love letter to the Spielberg films of the 80s that made them want to be directors in the first place. The film stars Benedict Mazurek, Paul Haapaniemi, Angela Smeraldi, Alexandra Keller, with Matt Boone and Alexander Harris.

With the World Premiere of Danger! Danger! just around the corner, we wanted to unveil the latest Poster!
So far we’ve been told it looks like “if Steven Spielberg directed Fight Club.” That sounds amazing.

Tickets are now sale for the World Premiere at the Pasadena International Film Festival.

We’re over the moon to announce that our feature film, Danger! Danger! will be making its World Premiere at the Pasadena International Film Festival this March! 

Danger! Danger! is the second feature film from directing duo Nick + Lexie and is their love letter to the Spielberg movies of the 1980s, films like Indiana Jones, The Goonies, and Back to the Future that made them want to be filmmakers in the first place!

Danger! Danger! stars Benedict Mazurek, Paul Haapaniemi, Angela Smeraldi, Alexandra Keller, with Alexander Harris, and Matt Boone.

Danger! Danger! Behind the Scenes - The Production Design

Production Design is so important to any film. On our first film, The West and the Ruthless, we wanted the film to have an authentic look - meaning real guns, real boots, real stagecoaches. For Danger! Danger! we wanted the look to feel a bit more 1980s action-adventure movie. Something that could have come from Mad Max or Aliens. We worked with Steel Gohst, who was already creating amazing weaponry like this to bring the guns to life.

For the skeletons and cadavers in Danger! Danger! we wanted a Temple of Doom feeling. Something so over the top, that they’re part of the adventure.

We worked with Dapper Cadaver, who had previously worked on Stranger Things and films like Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest and Jurassic World, on these effects.

Speaking of spacesuits, we also worked with the brilliant folks over at Global Effects, who had just wrapped Ad Astra and First Man. We were able to use these authentic NASA replicas and bring our own “One Eyed Willie” moment in the film to life and have it look amazing.

Danger! Danger! Behind the Scenes - The Sets & Locations

Locations and Sets are extremely important to us when we’re making a film. With both of our feature films, The West and the Ruthless and Danger! Danger! the locations are essentially one of the characters. In The West and the Ruthless, we wanted a world that felt dirty, and gritty, and lived in. We found the perfect location at Old Tucson Studios that also made the film feel huge.

Sets at Laurel Canyon Stages

For Danger! Danger! we wanted to harken back to the films of the 1980s that made us want to become filmmakers. The locations needed to have that adventurous and sci-fi spirit of the 80s, but also feel dangerous and epic. The stages at Laurel Canyon Studios made us feel like we were on the set of Aliens and Vasquez Rocks (the home of so many Star Trek films, the Planet of the Apes, and so many others!) were the perfect settings.

Danger! Danger! has been SO MUCH FUN. Period. It’s the first time we’ve ever had the chance to work on a project and say things like “should we go more Indiana Jones with that???” “Should this feel more like Star Wars???”

That said, we’re over the moon to release the first of 4 clips from the film! 

This is the moment where our adventurers (and villains) first enter the secret temple. And who doesn’t love secret temples? As a filmmaker that grew up loving 80s adventure movies, this was a dream come true.

It’s 1985 and adventurer, Jonathan Danger, has just crash landed onto an Island 20 miles off the coast of Africa. He’s looking for a temple that may or may not be his ticket to go back in time. Too bad the Soviets got there first. Too bad they want to go back in time to change the events of the Space Race and the Cold War and World War II. Too bad he has a punctured a lung. Too bad he’s been kidnapped by Jungle Jim and his sister Jade Calloway. Too bad he never gives up.
